I watched as Jaded excused herself from the mass of people crushing in on her; I knew she needed her space - Emote dragged my attention away from her as he pointed out that everyone was leaving to see what the rumbling noise was all about. "Wedge come," he said grabbing my hand with his paw that was not full of food - he was carrying a large covered divided dish that held what the people here called fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob, German potato salad, cole slaw, and other dainties and he had another one on the table that had sliced roast beef, BBQ'd pork, baked beans, something green and wiggly, and more mashed potatoes with a different gravy - one would think I never fed him looking at all the food he was collecting on his plates. We followed the WAASers, as I learned they referred to themselves, although no one would tell me what WAAS stood for - they keep telling me that I will find out soon enough - out the front door where we were greeted by a large wooden reptile-like thing.
Then it began to rain; to rain hard with thunder shaking the ground
and lightening lighting up the sky with its sudden flashes. "Emote,
you go back inside and finish your dinner, I am going after Jaded, she
shouldn't be out in this weather in her condition." I turned to one of
the WAAS females, Anti I think her name is, "I have to go find Jaded;
when I get back, is there someplace I will be able to draw her a warm
bath and a dry bed with lots of blankets?" After getting her reply
that we can have a room on the third floor with directions to it, I
send Emote up there to wait for me and to finish eating telling him I
will be back as soon as I can. I took off for the woods in the
direction Jaded had headed at a dead run - too bad Wes, Tych and Hobbs
were occupied, I could really use their help right now.
