A New Prankster
by Nic

Why did I agree to this? I mean, I know what happens when Wes does stuff like this with Hobbie, so why on earth did I sign on?

Her job was simple: distract Mirax and turn the Jedi's head for a split second. Force or not, he'd have a problem trying to figure out who had slipped the itching powder into his flight-suit while he was busy scratching, leaving Wes (and hopefully Nic) free to run for the hills.

A grin spread across Nic's face as she thought of Corran's reaction to Wes' prank.

This is why I’m crouched in the space terminal, staring at the 'Skate, fingering the key to the warehouse that now holds her cargo and getting ready to dump my own lot of powder on the one person who'd be a really bad addition to my list of enemies.

She sighed inwardly and closed her eyes. In her head, she heard Hobbie’s voice: It's worse than that, kiddo. You know you're going to be disintegrated once Mirax catches up with you...

"So why I am doing this again?" She asked the voice in her head. "Yeah, Jedi-boy’s discomfort...But why is the rum gone??" She quipped the inside joke she shared with some of her Terran friends.

The sound of footsteps silenced her and she crouched lower. The steps quickened and she heard the voices of Mirax and Corran.

"How can anyone have broken into my ship?!" Mirax sounded like a rancor about to tear off the head of an unsuspecting victim. "This is a secure docking bay!"

"Sweetheart, I know but..." Corran's mollifying tones filtered after. He sounded like a man who was out of his league and he knew it. All the Force-powers in the universe couldn’t help him when Mirax got into one of her rampages.

"But nothing! This is absurd!" Mirax appeared in Nic's line of sight. She was dressed in a really, really nice evening dress; the sheer material left little to the imagination and only covered up the important bits. Corran was dressed in standard dress uniform for the Rogues. It took less than thirty seconds for the loading ramp to lower and for Mirax to storm aboard. It took even less time for her to reappear and begin ordering her Jedi around.

As Mirax stood staring at her ship fuming mad, Corran left the hanger at a dead run. A few moments later, as Mirax turned to follow him, Nic flicked the switch in her hand. Mirax stopped dead in her tracks as a container that had been concealed on top of the Pulsar Skate flipped over and dumped a mist of fine powder over the already-irate woman and the expensive-looking dress. Her bellow of rage accompanied Nic as she ran out of the hangar, tossing the keys to the warehouse over her shoulder.
