Despite repeated assurances from the Senate that our planet will be made safe, rodents and other dangerous creatures remain firmly ensconced in the planet's lower levels. The Times' man-on-the-street, Vic Harmon, interviewed Exterminator Omdur Baq about this distressing problem.
Times: Thank you, Mr Baq, for taking the time to speak with us. Our readers are naturally quite concerned about the vermin problem.
Baq: No problem; I'm always glad to take a break. It's dangerous work in there.
Times: I'm sure it is. Here on the third level in what used tobe Invisec, what do you feel is the biggest safety hazard?
Baq: Wel... you could say the ranats... but I think it's the humans.
Times: The humans?
Baq: Oh yeah. Nasty little predators. Can't walk the streets at night.
Times: Bu- but surely humans are threatened by these animals...
Baq: I guess so. They sure scream whenever they see a scurrier. But they're just little things, see?
Times: *screams*
Times: It's as big as your head! Kill it! Kill it!
Baq: It's OK; go on, hold it.
Times: *faints*
Baq: Damn.
The Times would like to express its sorrow at Vic Harmon's concussion and hope that he makes a full and speedy recovery.
